History of First

The First Presbyterian Church in Plattsburg, Missouri, was organized on April 5, 1861.
Worship services have continued since that date.

The church building was completed in 1875 on the corner lot of Locust and Fifth Streets.
A pipe organ was added in the last part of the 19 th Century.
In 1923, a basement was dug and the frame building was moved over it.
The church was then renovated, and the exterior was faced with brick and stone and
a new roof structure was covered with slate.
