BOARD OF PENSIONS ANNOUNCES
NO INCREASE IN DUES PERCENTAGE FOR 2009

WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service today issued the 2009 optional standard mileage rates used to calculate the deductible costs of operating an automobile for business, charitable, medical or moving purposes.
Beginning on Jan. 1, 2009, the standard mileage rates for the use of a car (also vans, pickups or panel trucks) will be:
- 55 cents per mile for business miles driven
- 24 cents per mile driven for medical or moving purposes
- 14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations
Revenue Procedure 2008-72 contains additional information on these standard mileage rates.

2009 PER CAPITA
The 2009 Per Capita was approved as $29.90
at the September 9th Presbytery meeting.
The 2009 per capita will provide $20.41 to Heartland Presbytery,
$3.34 to the Synod of Mid-America and
$6.15 to the General Assembly.
Heartland Presbytery’s share went up only 3.4%
which is less than the estimated cost of living.
