The Presbytery staff are inviting congregations in Heartland Presbytery to complete a survey on how they teach, enact, and foster the practices of storytelling and listening in our congregations.
Stories matter. We engage in the work of storytelling daily. Stories make up who we are. As one scholar says, “stories are chronicles invested with moral meaning through emplotment.” In this sense, as we plot the events of our lives, we create a story about ourselves that communicates meaning to our audience.
As we intentionally listen and discern how God is calling us individually and as congregations, we attend to the movement of the Spirit in our lives. We are interested in these matters because we want to learn how we tell the formative stories of our faith and how you tell the individual story of the congregation.
Please take a few minutes to respond to the questions in the survey link below.
