"Too Much Social, Not Enough Gospel?"
Congregations face an identity crisis – who or what
the church is in our current social and political
moment requires deep reflection on how we do
church in our moment. Worship and preaching need
new, playful energy; pastors need more than great
preaching tips (though that helps!), they need
colleagues who stand with them in the struggle of
building strong congregations carrying out the
mission. This panel and conversation will explore the
contemporary challenges facing congregations and
the creative responses some pastors are using to
address these issues, from burnout to community
organizing.
Panelists: Tripp Fuller; Rev. Dr. Aaron Stauffer, Associate Presbyter for Congregational Vitality, Heartland Presbytery; Dr. Casey Sigmon, St. Paul School of Theology
